Let's play a game! Stand up and arrange yourselves in order of your birthday months. Who is first? Who is last?
What is Ascending and Descending?
Ascending means numbers go from smallest to largest. Descending means numbers go from largest to smallest.
Real Life Example
If you have 12, 35, 29, and 50 pencils, we can put the numbers in order to see who has the most and least pencils.
Hands-On Activity!
Use number cards in small groups. Arrange cards in ascending order. Now try descending order. Check with your friends!
