To be + going to + infinitive (hele werkwoord)
Used when:
  • Planned; 
  • Evidence;
  • About to happen.

Planned: 
We are going to Spain next summer. 
-> planned ahead of time, before this "conversation"
Evidence:
It is going to rain soon, the clouds are dark.
-> the dark clouds are evidence for the prediction.
About to happen:
Watch out! It is going to fall!

  • To make an offer/promise/threat;
  • When refusing something (won't).
