Zero conditional

First conditional

When do you use the present perfect? 

You use the present perfect when:

- you want to say that something has started in the past but is now still going /she has worked at the bank for five years. /

- you want to talk about experiences

/She's already visited Hawaii three times./

- you want to say that something has happened in the past but you still notice the effect of it. /Rob feels sick. He's eaten too much./

Present Perfect

Has she bought a car?

Negative

 * have not/has not + verb-ed

I have not worked for long.

* have not/has not+ 3rd form

She hasn't bought a new car since 2001.

Use: 

* something started and is still going

* something just finished

* talking about experiences up till now.

Present perfect:

Zero Conditional: If + present simple, .... present simple.

ZERO CONDITIONAL: we talk about things which always happen 

If I heat the ice, it melts.

If babies are hungry, they cry.

If water reaches 100 degrees, it boils. 

First conditional

First conditional: we  talk about things that might happen in the future

If you study, you'll pass the test.

She'll be late if the train is delayed.

If I see her, I'll tell her.

Ice melts if you heat it
