What is Digital Communication?

Digital communication allows us to send information using electronic devices and digital signals like 0s and 1s.

The Sender

The sender is the person or device that creates the message to be sent.

The Encoder

The encoder changes the message into a digital signal, usually made of 0s and 1s.

Transmission Medium

The path the signal travels, such as Wi-Fi, cables, or mobile networks.

The Decoder

The decoder turns the digital signal back into a readable message.

The Receiver

The receiver is the person or device that gets the message.

Examples of Digital Communication

Includes mobile phones, emails, social media apps, video calls, and messaging services.
