When do you have to use ordinal numbers ?
  1. dates ( the first of April)
  2. sequence/order ( I finished fourth)
  3. floors of a building (He works on the 6th floor) 
  4. celebrations: birthdays and anniversaries (It's her 17th birthday today)
  5. centuries (He lived in the 15th century)
  6. kings and queens: Roman ordinals, but spoken in English (Richard IV = Richard the fourth)
