What is the UK Government?
The UK government is responsible for running the country. It makes laws, manages public services, and ensures national security.
The Three Branches
The UK government has three branches: the Executive, the Legislative, and the Judicial. Each has different roles.
The Executive
Led by the Prime Minister, the Executive enforces laws and runs the country day-to-day.
The Legislative
Parliament, made up of the House of Commons and the House of Lords, makes and passes laws.
The Judicial
The Judicial branch interprets laws. Judges ensure laws are fair and followed.
How a Law is Made
Drafted as a bill, debated in Parliament, and approved by the Monarch. Then, it becomes law.
