1. Read p106-108 in the textbook and also read about any countries that interest you.
2. For the UK and ONE other country do your own independent research work to highlight factors such as the climate, geography and culture of your chosen countries to show how this influences:
  •  what food is able to be grown, reared and caught
  • how these factors influence traditional ingredients and dishes
Discuss the climate and geography in terms of the food produced and how this affects the authentic flavours, cooking methods and traditional recipes for your chosen countries. Make sure you have explained how you think these have evolved over time.

  • Make a PowerPoint or make an iMovie about this topic. Write an essay if you prefer.
  • Make sure you not only give facts but also give evidence and examples for the points you make.
  • I would like you to show an understanding of how and why the cuisine of different countries has developed. Why are there similarities and differences and why is this?
  • Please do not just give a list of factual information. The context needs to be one of point, evidence, example.
  • Please record the sources of information you use at the end of your work (so keep a record of the ones you use).
