Change the verb into a gerund or to infinitive: I decided (to go) on holiday with my friends in Spain.

Gerund or to infinitive?
  • learn the specific verbs by heart on p. 235 after which you use a gerund
  • to infinitive is used in 3 cases: 
  1. after certain verbs (p. 235)
  2. after the object (lijdend voorwerp) of the sentence: I told her to stop doing that. 
  3. after adjectives that express opinion: It is not nice to punch someone. 
An exception to these rules is: to love (you can either use a to infinitve OR gerund)
