1. Possessive
Enkelvoud: -'s     (my friend's car, John's house)
Meervoud: - '     (my parents' house,   ladies' shoes)
Meervoud zonder -s: krijgt -'s   (children's toys, men's trousers)

Enkelvoud met al een -s krijgt of 's of -' (mag allebei):
Thomas's / Thomas' book       James's / James' car

2. Comparative & Superlative
Short words:   cheap > cheaper > cheapest
Long words:    expensive > more expensive > most expensive

Exceptions:     bad > worse > worst
                              good > better > best 
                              far > farther/further > farthest/furthest

3. Some & Any 
Some = bevestigende zinnen, vragen waar je verwacht dat het 
                 antwoord "yes" zal zijn, aanvragen en beloftes. 
                        - "We still have some cookies left."
                        - "Do you have some sugar for my coffee?"

Any = ontkennende zinnen en algemene vragen. 
             "We don't have any homework."

4. Much, Many, Little & Few
Much & (a) little = ontelbare zelfstandige naamwoorden
                            much money, much water, much time

Many & (a) few = telbare zelstandige naamwoorden
                           many dollars, many bottles, many minutes

A few/little = "een paar/beetje"             Few/Little = "weinig"

5. Modals
Can = kunnen                           May = mogen
Could = zou kunnen                  Might = zou mogen

Will = zal (in de toekomst)      Should = zou moeten (advies) 

Shall = zal (hulp bieden)         Must = moeten (vind je zelf)    

Would = zou willen / zouden    Have to = moeten (vindt ander)
