How teeth work

Learning Intention

I will be able to name the types of teeth humans have.

I will be able to recognise the name of the tooth and what its job is.

I will be able to explain two ways to take care of my teeth and why it is important.

Why do you think animals have different teeth?

Molars

Molars are the flat teeth at the back.

The molars job is to grind food into smaller pieces to make it easier to swallow and digest.

Canines

The canines are sharp pointy teeth.

The canines job is to tear and rip food.  

Incisors

The incisors are the flat, thin teeth at the front.

The job of the incisors is to cut and bite food into smaller pieces.
