Je vraagt bij een ontkennende vraag vaak om bevestiging.

Bij de werkwoorden to be, have, of hulpwerkwoord zoals can worden vooraan de zin gezet met daarachter not.

• Isn't/aren't/wasn't/weren't
• Haven't/hasn't/hadn't
• Can't/couldn't

Negative questions

In alle andere gevallen maak je een zin met don't/doesn't/didn't

• I visited the grand canyon.
• Didn't you visit the grand canyon?

• They have tickets for the concert.
• Don't they have tickets for the concert.

Belangrijk: de TENSE verandert niet.

Make a negative question of:
I am happy that I told the truth

1. Has I not happy that I told the truth?
2. Aren't you happy that you told the truth?
3. I'm not happy that I told the truth
4. Am I not happy that I told the truth?

Again: make a negative question of:
I am pleased to see you
