Mastering Word Order: English Sentences
Mastering Word Order: English Sentences
What do you already know about English word order?
Learning Objective
At the end of the lesson you will confidently build simple affirmative, negative, and question sentences in English.
Why Word Order Matters
In English, word endings don’t change, so word order is crucial to know who does what. Changing order changes meaning!
Английский язык не меняет окончания, поэтому порядок слов — единственный способ понять, кто выполняет действие.
Пример:
The dog bites the man.
The man bites the dog.
В русском: «кусать» меняет форму, в английском — нет. Поэтому позиция слова важнее всего.
The Core Word Order
Remember: Subject + Verb + Object + Adverbial. Example: I drink tea in the morning.
Примеры:
I drink tea in the morning.
She reads books at home.
They watch movies every weekend.
Sentence Parts Explained
Subject (кто?)
I, you, he, she, they, people, my sister, the cat.
Verb (действие)
read, eat, go, watch, play, like.
Subject / Verb
Object / Adverbial
Object (что? кого?)
tea, books, the guitar, breakfast, music. Adverbial (когда? где? как?)
in the morning, at home, every day, quickly.
Common Mistakes
Перенос логики русского языка:
Every day I drink tea → в английском тоже нормально, но лучше сначала дать базовую модель.
Перестановка времени перед объектом:
He drinks every day tea — это ошибка.
Частое отсутствие объекта:
I read (что?) — для A1 иногда нужно пояснить.
