Inhale. Exhale. The great expanse of empty wasteland combined with the constant, low hanging smoke made it difficult to breathe properly. Anxiously, I focus on trying to avoid inhaling the particles of smoke that taunt the air. Kuredu is rife with pollution. It makes London and Shanghai look like beacons of success in the fight against climate change. It is private and isolated. I wish there was a way out; an escape route. All roads on Kuredu lead to The Master. He will refuse entry to anyone who dares try to leave. In our language, Kuredu means control. Only the citizens have no control and there is no control over the bulldozing of our natural landscapes or the prejudice against the poor. Disease swarms as grey spotted flies invade personal spaces. Living on Kuredu is a thing you would not wish on your most hated enemies. There is no life. There is no light. There is no reason to be alive.
