Bij de start van iedere les verwelkomt de docent de leerlingen bij de ingang van de deur, noemt leerlingen bij naam, maakt oogcontact en besteedt aandacht aan hun welbevinden. De docent geeft het goede voorbeeld en spreekt hoge verwachtingen uit voor het verloop van de les door succescriteria op gewenst gedrag, schooltaal en effectief leren te benoemen. This is the second lesson of this Grammar topic. The goal is to see where the gaps are, fill them in, clarify, practise to gain confidence.

O - Zero conditional 

-  stating facts

-  things that are generally true

                         Ex. If it rains, the ground gets wet. 

                       If + present simple   ->   present simple

Explanation of the basic rules for conditionals 

1 - First conditional

- situations in the (near) future that are real or possible

 

Ex. If the weather is fine, we will go to the beach.

 If + present simple       ->       will + infinitive (future simple)

2 - Second conditional

- situations that are imaginary, unlikely or unreal, 

but still might happen 

Ex. If I won a lottery, I would buy a house. 

If + past simple     ->      could/would + infinitive (1-st form)

3 - Third conditional

- situation in the past that would have led

to a different outcome; may show regret ; can't be changed 

Ex. If I had seen you yesterday, I would have told you this.

if + past perfect           ->         could/would + present perfect

The taks for everyone now is: 

1. Write the sentence using correct conditional

2. Write down (at the end of the sentence) what type of conditional this is.

put the verbs in the correct form 

In step 1  they had to only identify conditional.

3) an imaginary / unlikely / unreal 

4)  smth you can not change/regret
