What makes a good chain of reasoning in Economics?

Put this chain of analysis in the correct order:

1

consumption rises

2

economic growth increases

3

savings ratio falls

4

AD increases

What is the issue with this answer?

A fall in the saving ratio means people save less money and spend more. This means businesses will get more sales and profits will increase. This will help the economy grow and there will be more jobs.

What is the issue with this answer?

A fall in the saving ratio means people save less which results in a balance of payments deficit as they are importing more.

Fill in the blanks

A fall in the saving ratio means that households save a smaller proportion of their disposable income and therefore spend more. This increases consumption, which is a major component of aggregate demand (AD). As consumption rises, aggregate demand increases, shifting the AD curve to the right. Higher AD encourages firms to increase production in order to meet the higher demand for goods and services. As firms expand output, they may hire more workers, leading to a reduction in unemployment and an increase in real GDP, therefore improving economic growth and overall macroeconomic performance.
