Possessive: 's, ' and ... of ...

Vaste -s of komma 's 

• Woorden in het meervoud ALTIJD een vaste -s:
  one boy - two boys
  one baby -  six babies.

• Woorden die bezit aangeven hebben een hoge komma 's:
   The boy's dog was black and white.
  The woman's dress was too short.

Possessive - bezit mensen/dieren

Gebruik je om te zeggen dat iets van iemand is of dat iets ergens bij hoort:

1.  Bij  bezit van mensen of dieren, zet je ’s of ’ achter het woord.
   Bij een woord in het enkelvoud gebruik je ’s:  my dad’s car   -  Brutus’s toy
   
   
2. Na een woord in het meervoud dat niet eindigt op -s gebruik je ook ’s:
   other people’s opinions
   
   
3. Na een woord in het meervoud dat eindigt op  -s alleen  ’ :
   my friends’ bikes, the dogs’ leashes

2. Bij geografische locaties:  … of …. 
   the city of New York , the county of Essex
   
   
3. Dingen die horen bij een land of plaats --> kun je kiezen ’s  / ... of ...
