How to use the future tense:
There are situations in which to use a future tense
  • prediction (voorspelling) - He will not get a 9 for the next test.
  • intention (voornemen) - I am going to visit my granny later today.
  • arrangement (afspraak, plan) - I am cycling home after this class.
  • fixed event in the future (geplande gebeurtenis) - The train leaves at 5.

 Simpele voorspelling: There will be snow in many areas tomorrow.
Bereidheid: We'll give you a lift to the cinema.
Een handeling in proces in de toekomst: This time next week I'll be sun-bathing.

Future with be going to:
Plannen en bedoelingen: We're going to spend the summer abroad.
Voorspelling op basis van bewijs: I think it's going to rain!

Future with present continuous:
Afspraken: I'm meeting Jim at the airport.
Handelingen of gebeurtenissen die een routinezaak zijn: You'll be seeing John in the office tomorrow, won't you?

Future with present simple:
Tijdsgebonden evenementen: The plane takes off at 3 a.m.
