Cannabis in Netherlands

• Illegal but decriminalised 
• 1973: Start of reacreational use in NL
• 2003: Start of medical use in NL (Low THC)
• Only licensed coffeeshops can sell and not in every city
• Allowed for tourists to an extent

Cannabis policy in Netherlands

• Cannabis cannot be advertised
• Coffeeshops cannot sell hard drugs or alcohol
• 18+
• 5g max per person, per day, can be sold
• A stock of 500g max per shop
• No smoking in public areas
• 5 five plants max, for personal use

Pros:

• Boost in tax revenue
• Decrease illegal traffic
• Medical benefits
• Safety control

Cons:

• Addiction problems 
• Negative for the growth of children
• Brain, lung, heart damage
• Poor mental health

Cannabis should be legalized in Denmark for recreational purposes.
