Tips, based on the formative
  • Add the word count
  • Learner info: Refer to week 2 content to help with this. Include CEFR and other frameworks, make sure you mention how you include their needs and level in your lesson series.
● Do not use "and" in SCs as this means you are combining two SC into one (makes it harder to check/tick the box).
● Format = 3 lessons. Learners need to produce something. Lessons 1+2 = give content to help learners produce something (in/after lesson 2). Lesson 3 = You design this based on the evaluation of the product.

Phase 5: adapt teaching
Teachers should adapt their teaching when the analysis of student learning shows that it is necessary.
If students do not understand instructions or achieve learning aims, teachers must decide how to adapt their teaching so that all students can achieve the aim and also challenge the students who have already achieved it.

What do we focus on in phase 5?
Module guide:
- Describe the adaptations made to teaching and learning.
- Did your students succeed after the adaptations?
- How did you challenge the students who did not reach the aims after lessons 1 and 2?
- Reflect on phase 5. What went well? Why? What would you do differently next time? Why?

Activity: After marking argumentative essays, a teacher notices that the majority of the class has problems structuring a good body paragraph. Before the students started writing, he gave them a verbal explanation of how to structure a paragraph and let them read a good student sample. How can he adapt his teaching after giving them feedback? Discuss in pairs and upload.
