What do you always have to do?

  • Always take a notebook with you to class. 
  • Write down the grammar rules in your notebook.
  • Write other important stuff in your notebook.

No notebook (or an empty one) means that you've forgotten your work.


Create a vocabulary list at the end of your notebook. This broadens your vocabulary and help you remember more.

On your own:
  • Go to page 208 - Read step 1 through 4 of the strategy Studying Vocabulary with the Theme words.
  • Follow the steps using the Theme words (page 40 + page 38)

* You should have learned these words. This is just a quick recap. You have 2 minutes. 
In pairs:
  • Check how well you know the two blocks of Theme words by asking them 5 words from each block.
With 4 people:
  • Take turns choosing a piece of paper and read the words out loud. 
  • The other group members have to write down the words correctly without using their books.
  • Finished? Check spelling of all members. 1 point per correct answer.
  • The person who scores seven points first, wins!

On your own:
  • Read the Theme words again (page 40 + page 38)
  • Write down the words you keep forgetting. 
  • You have 1 minute to do so.


In groups of 3/4:
  • One of you is going to describe the Theme word in English without mentioning the actual word. 
  • The other two classmates try to guess which Theme word is described. 
  • The first one to say the correct word gets a point. 
  • The game is finished when you have described all the theme words. 
  • Take turns. 

Example: 'When you like the same things' = "To have in common"

  • Get your laptop and go to www.kahoot.com
  • If you don't have a laptop you can use your phone (only if you don't have it). 
  • Put your phone flat on the table, so I can see what you are doing. 
  • Close your books (put them in your bag).
