PEEL-paragraphs
A PEEL-paragraph is a way to write a clear and strong paragraph that helps you explain your ideas step by step.
- PEEL stands for Point, Explanation, Evidence, and Link.

Point
- This is most important thing you want to say in your paragraph.
- You make a point by rewriting the question
Example:
Q: Why is getting enough sleep important?
P: Getting enough sleep is important.
What would be the point if our question is: Why are bananas yellow?

Evidence
- Here, you give a fact, example, or proof that supports your point. It shows that your point is true.
- You can find evidence by reading the texts in your book that support your point.
Example:
P: Getting enough sleep is important.
E: Study shows that kids who sleep well, do better in school.
What kind of text should we read if we want to find out why bananas are yellow?

Explain
- Now, you explain how or why your evidence supports your point.
- This helps your reader understand why the evidence matters.
Example:
P: Getting enough sleep is important.
E: When you don’t sleep enough, you feel tired and can’t focus, so it’s harder to learn

Link
- Finally, you connect your paragraph back to the question
- You do this by repeating the point
- It is easier if you start your sentence with therefor
Example:
P: Getting enough sleep is important.
L: Therefor, getting enough sleep is important.
