What is the difference between the Present Continuous and the Present Simple?

Wanneer de 'Present Continuous'?

• De vorm gebruik je als iets aan de gang is op het moment dat je erover spreekt of schrijft.
• Iets gebeurt dus op dit moment.

Hoe ziet de vorm eruit?

am / are / is + werkwoord + ing

He is working at the moment.

Present Continuous OR Present Simple?

Present simple: feiten, gewoontes, dingen die je regelmatig doet

Present continuous: dingen die NU bezig zijn

Uitzonderingen

• ww + es: -s, -x, -z, -ch, -sh (watches)
• ww + es: werkwoorden do & go
• -y wordt -ies: try wordt tries
• -y wordt +s: als er een a, e, i, o, u voor de y staat (buy wordt buys)
