 A healthy diet is vital for feeling your best! It's also a proven way to reduce the risk of disease and to help manage the symptoms of a number of health issues.

There are six categories of nutrients that the body needs to acquire from food: protein, carbohydrates, fat, fibers, vitamins and minerals, and water.

  • Report about the relationship between diet and chronic   disease
  • Made reccomendations about a healthy diatary pattern
  • Based on the guidelines derived from the report, the   Netherlands Nutrition Center developed the schijf van vijf.

The Health Council is an Independent scientific advisory body to the government and parliament. They wrote a report about
the current level of knowledge about the relationship between diet and chronic disease and makes associated recommendations about a healthy dietary pattern.
Based on the guidelines derived from the report, the Netherlands Nutrition Center was responsible for developing the schijf van vijf. .
