James, 32 Operator at an extrusion department:

There are different types of PPE we need to wear in our department. We wear safety shoes and earprotection and because we work with some hot surfaces we  also wear gloves.

It is very important for us to wear tight clothing because, if clothes aren't tight enough, they can get stuck in moving parts of the machine. I have seen accidents happen to people who were stuck in parts of a machine and that was horrible!
Beantwoord in het Nederlands

- Waarom vindt James het dragen van los zittende kleding gevaarlijk?

Jeff, 28 Operator

I work for a small company and we don't really need rules, instead we give eachother feedback for safety.

Sometimes we do wear heat-resistant gloves but we work in a clean environment and gloves can contaminate the product, therefore I don't wear them often.

Actually, we don't wear any PPE and there are no strickt safety rules. We just use common sense!
