Conditionals

= If sentences 

Slide 7 - Slide

O - Zero conditional 
-  stating facts
-  things that are generally true
                         Ex. If it rains, the ground gets wet. 
                       If + present simple   ->   present simple

1 - First conditional
- situations in the (near) future that are real or possible
 
Ex. If the weather is fine, we will go to the beach.
 If + present simple       ->       will + infinitive (future simple)

2 - Second conditional
- situations that are imaginary, unlikely or unreal, 
but still might happen 
Ex. If I won a lottery, I would buy a house. 
If + past simple     ->      could/would + infinitive (1-st form)

- situation in the past that would have led
to a different outcome; may show regret ; can't be changed 
Ex. If I had seen you yesterday, I would have told you this.
if + past perfect           ->         could/would + present perfect
