THAT
Mag in plaats van who of which als er GEEN komma in de zin staat. Staat er wel een komma, dan kan je geen that gebruiken.
WHOSE
Geeft aan van wie iets is, of waar iets bij hoort.
Verwijzingen bij mensen, dieren en dingen.
Examples
The boy whose parents live in another country.
That's the woman who/that helped me with the groceries. 
I like the song which/that is on the radio right now.

Simple sentence: 

This is a very popular restaurant. 
I have worked here for 5 months.

Compound sentence
  • Twee simple sentences samenvoegen met voegwoorden:
  • voegwoorden (linking words): but, or, and, so



Example:
2 simple sentences:
He works at a supermarket. He works at a carwash

Compound sentence:
He works at a supermarket and he works at a carwash.

Complex sentence
A complex sentence features at least a single independent clause (simple sentence with subject and verb) as well as at least one dependent clause (incomplete thought or sentence).
Example:
Dependent clause + complex linking word + dependent clause
John switched off the lights before he left.
Tarzan and Jane climbed the tree that they landed in after swinging from a rope.
