Sentences

Simple sentence

- 1 volledige zin

- Bestaat altijd uit 1 onderwerp (wie/wat) en 1 persoonsvorm (doet/deed)

“He is washing the car.”

Compound sentence

- hoofdzin en hoofdzin

- Bestaat uit 2 simple sentences die samengevoegd zijn met een voegwoord

- voegwoorden: and, but, or, so

“He works at a supermarket and he works at a carwash.”

Complex sentence

- hoofdzin en bijzin (kan niet alleen staan)

- bijzin begint met voegwoord

- voegwoorden: because, since, after, although, when, before, that, who, which, whose

“She liked to sing when she was younger.”
