If you travel here by train, you will get off the train at Botanic Station. Then it’s a 15-minute walk to the museum.
Look out for Queens University Library and Botanic Gardens. When you see these gates, you have almost arrived.

If you turn left when you enter, you will see the café and toilets. The café may be busy so it can be noisy.

In the event of a fire a alarm will sound. Stay with your group. Museum staff will help your teacher to lead your group to the nearest fire exit.

Who will I meet?
If you are doing a History workshop, you will be using the Learning Zone.
If you are doing an Art workshop, you will be in the Art Galleries.
If you are doing a Nature workshop, you will be using the Nature Classroom.
Rooms you might use
You might get a chance to visit one of our Discovery Centres during your visit. In Discover History, you can touch the objects on display, dress up and play. A member of our Discovery Team will be there to help you.

In the Discover Nature room, you can touch some of the bones and specimens on display, and learn more about nature. A member of our Discovery Team will be there to help you.

In the Discover Art room, you can draw and make things. You can also dress up and play. A member of our Discovery Team will be there to help you.

The museum has lots of different galleries to explore. You might not visit them all but that’s fine – you can always come back another day.

If you don’t know what you can or can’t touch, you can ask the adult you came with or museum staff.

There might be lots of other children visiting the museum too, so it can be noisy sometimes.
You can talk to your friends, but remember not to shout or run in the galleries.
The museum can get busy with other schools and visitors, so remember to stay with your group.
If you don’t like heights, look out for the purple doors. Behind the door there are stairs and lifts to each floor.
