THE FUTURE:

(will / to be + going to / present continuous / present simple)

Toekomende tijd met.....

1.  present simple (vaste tijden/roosters/dienstregelingen/reisschema's)
2.  will (aanbieden/beloven/aankondigen/voorspellen)
3.  to be going to (iets van plan zijn/bewijs dat het gaat gebeuren)
4.  present continuous (zaken die in de toekomst helemaal geregeld zijn)

   Future Simple

For events that follow a schedule

- The train leaves at 9 o'clock

- The show starts at 8 o'clock

   Will + infinitive

To offer or promise something

- we will help you with your presentation

To make predictions

- It will rain next week

   am/are/is + going to + inf. 

To talk about intentions (plans for which you have not made any arrangements yet)

- I am going to lose weight

- I am going to give a speech

Predictions WITH evidence

- Look at those dark clouds! It is going to rain.

   Present Continuous Future 

To talk about plans for which you have already made arrangements

- I am watching TV with Anna tonight

- I am having a party for my birthday tomorrow

   Suggestions

To make a suggestion 

shall + I/we + verb without to

- Shall I buy the tickets

- Shall we take the train to Glasgow?

3. am/are/is + going to + ww: intenties & voorspellingen met bewijs

4. am/are/is + ww + ing: plannen die al zijn gemaakt
