Definition of Present Perfect
The present perfect tense is used to express actions that happened some time in the past or have relevance to the present.

What is the Past Simple?
The past simple is a tense used to talk about completed actions or states in the past. 
It is formed by adding '-ed' to regular verbs or using irregular verb forms.
