A place where we store 

water for later 

and we can use the moving 

water to create energy.

Water moves
from a higher
place to a lower

location. 
When the water
flows, it passes
a turbine. 

Note: How does hydro power work

When the water flows from high to low, 

it passes a 'turbine'. 

A turbine is like a wheel. The water pushes 
the wheel and spins. 

When it spins, it creates energy.

WATER FROM HIGH TO LOW AREA->TURBINE SPINS->ENERGY

Name one disadvantage of hydro power dams.
