Complex grammar - The Passive

Normal sentences --> Subject does something + object

I wrote a letter.

Passive sentences --> Object takes forefront

A letter was written (by me).

How? Find the object (often a noun) & put at the beginning of the sentence

Important!: The passive always uses verbs in the past tense.

Rewrite the sentence into a passive voice: My friend bought a new car

Rewrite the sentence into a passive voice: The dog did not bite the cat.

Rewrite the sentence into a passive voice: They understand Spanish.

Rewrite the sentence into a passive voice: The girls can play handball.

Rewrite the sentence into a passive voice: The teacher closes the window.
