In the present tense, the verb 'to do' is used in the following patterns: 
1. in negative sentences:
Many people do not like Donald Trump.
Miss van Kampen does not teach English.
2. in questions:
Do I look nice today?
What does he mean?
3. in short answers:
Yes, I do.
No, I don't.

How do we make a question with the verb 'to do' ?
Just like with 'to be', we switch 'to do' with the subject to make a question.

Do you like chocolate?
Does she play any sports?

When you want to make a question with words like:
what, why, when, where, who, which or when
Then the verb 'to do' becomes the second word in the sentence instead of the first.

Negations or negative means that something is 'not'.  
'to do' is a helping verb. It helps the main verb by giving meaning to a sentence. 
If we want to make a sentence negative
