Educational Inequality

Inequality is present in our society – also in education .

Unicef published a report with an overview of inequality among children in the 41 wealthiest countries (2016) .

Income & Education

Bottom 10% has less than 50% of disposable income when compared to middle income and is more likely to fall behind in education.

 There is a huge gap between 15-year-olds. They are falling below a minimum proficiency of reading, maths & science skills.

Some of the richest countries are at the bottom.

Although fewer children are left behind the ‘average’ child, the overall standard of the ‘average’ child is still poor.
