INTRODUCTIE: Elke dag worden we verleid. Niet door onze grote liefde maar door de nieuwste trends. Lopend door de stad, scrollend door onze insta: mode is overal. Het liefst lopen we elke week in een nieuwe outfit en genieten we van de kick van het kopen van iets nieuws. Maar wat is de invloed van ons koopgedrag? Weten we precies wat er allemaal nodig is om het T-shirt, dat je misschien maar 1 keer zult dragen, te produceren?

Fast Fashion .....a definition

• Clothing is produced as cheap as possible 
• A high turn-over: multiple trends per season 
• Production in low income countries 
• Production is harmful for environment 
• Expensive fashion can be fast fashion too!

Digging into the Supply Chain

“You’re going to trace the life of the clothing or shoe item you brought. Where was it made? What’s it made from? Who made it? How does it get to the store? You’ll investigate not just where it comes from, but what it costs — environmentally and socially.”

Use:

• The item's label (country of origin, brand)
• Brand websites (look for sustainability or “About Us” pages)
• News articles (search "[brand] + labor practices" or "supply chain")
• Reliable resources (like GoodOnYou.eco, Fashion Revolution, or EthicalConsumer.org)
• Critical thinking is demanded !! — if the company says they're sustainable, look for evidence.
