U.S. Tariffs and TikTok – What Happened?
In April 2025, former U.S. president Donald Trump announced a new 10% tariff on all imported goods. He called it "Liberation Day."

These tariffs aim to protect U.S. businesses and reduce reliance on foreign countries.

Trump also extended the deadline for the popular Chinese-owned app TikTok to be sold to a U.S. company. If not sold by June 19, the app might be banned in the U.S.

Supporters say this protects national security. Critics say it disrupts global business.
