Tackling difficult words (1)

Sometimes you come across difficult words when you’re reading. However, you don’t have to understand all the words to be able to understand a text. 

Tackling difficult words (2)

 You know that some English words look a lot like Dutch ones or like words from another language. In other cases, you might guess what a word means because you recognise part of the word.

That questions remains:

How can I do this?

1. Step 1: Search the word that you do not understand.
2. Step 2: What do you recognise in the word?
3. Step 3: What do you think the word means?
4. Step 4: What does the dictionary say?
