We use the past continuous to indicate that something  in the past took a period of time (continuous). 

Like all the continuous forms, it is made by using a form of the verb to be + ing.

Some en any kunnen we combineren met bijvoorbeeld -thing, -body, -one en -where. Dan betekenen ze “iets”, “iemand” of “ergens”. De regels blijven hetzelfde.
