The Romans have beaten them time and time again and are treating them stricter than ever.

The jews believe that god will send someone to hep/save them

This person is calles a messiah/messias/saviour

Jezus

• There is very little that we know about Jezus from science
• Our best guess is that he was born around 4 BC in Judea (now Israël)
• Jezus started traveling round the country and preaching (prediken) 
• A lot of jews saw something special in him and thought that he was the Messias
• They hoped that he would lead them against the Romans

• Many jews were diasppointed in Jezus, he was not the Rambo who would lead them against the Romans
