Write a survey

• Choose a store you like. The manager asks you to write a survey on consumers behaviour 

• Write an introduction: tell the clients what you want to investigate

• Write 10 multiple choice questions with 3 options each

Read the text and answer the questions

Past Simple - Regular Verbs

After a regular verb you put '-ed'  (regelmatige werkwoord)

I walk ->                    I walked

You walk ->             You walked

He/she walks ->    He/she walked

Past Simple - Regular verbs

Spelling:
Als een werkwoord eindigt op een medeklinker + y, dan verandert de -y in -ie:

• I carry - I carried

Let op, er verandert niets als het werkwoord eindigt op klinker + y:

• I play - I played

Als een werkwoord eindigt op -e, dan komt er in de past simple alleen een -d achter:

• I live - I lived

In de past simple wordt de laatste medeklinker verdubbeld als er één klinker voor staat:

• I drop - I dropped
• I spot - I spotted

The form for the past simple is the same for all persons

I   arrived in Rome yesterday.

She/he/it  arrived in Rome yesterday.

You arrived in Rome yesterday.

We arrived in Rome  yesterday.

They arrived in Rome yesterday.

Negation (ontkenning)

The negative of the Past Simple is formed with didn't

I didn't arrive yesterday

You didn't arrive yesterday

She/he/it didn't arrive yesterday

       "to be" - zijn

Past Simple - Irregular verbs

Irregular verbs in the past tense  have their own form.

to write -> wrote          I wrote her a letter last week.

to go -> went                 He went to Italy last year.

to make -> made         They made a very nice meal two days ago.

to buy ->bought           Lilly bought a new phone last week.

to stand->stood           He stood by the door and shook hands.

• Om aan te geven dat iets in het verleden is begonnen en nu nog aan de gang is.

• Er staat niet in de zin wanneer het is gebeurd.
