Portia Nelson (1920-2001) wrote "Autobiography in Five Short Chapters"
She was an American singer, songwriter, actress and author.
Her book of poetic musings, "There's a hole in my sidewalk: The Romance of Self-Discovery" is a popular read for those on the twelve-step programs.
