Congratulations!
Congratulations! From this day on, you’re all news reporters and during the next few lessons you’ll be travelling all over the world to look at what is going on, or what went on, in those countries. You’re going to read articles, watch news fragments, have discussions with each other and even create your own news programme!

Who reads the news?
Who follows news accounts on social media like nosstories?

Let's watch a video on how to spot fake news!

Slide 14 - Tekstslide

Slide 15 - Video

The tips she gave that I remember...

Slide 16 - Woordweb

Her tips:
  • Just because someone said something, doesn’t mean it’s true
  • Verify your pictures or videos, check if other news outlets have used it too.
  • Allow responses from the person the story is about, “right of reply”
  • Listen to different opinions, being ‘impartial’, understand all sides of the argument, is what you’re saying fair to the people involved.
  • Find out how many people it is affecting, figure out the scale of the problem.

See you next week!

Make sure to bring your laptop (fully charged!)
