Each group has a bag of Twizzlers and 4 different colored Skittles on their desk.  We are going to use these to make a DNA model today.  What part of a DNA double helix do you and your partner think each of these candies represents?

*You can use your notes from Tuesday & Wednesday to help!
**Please don't eat the candy - you will get a fresh bag after!

On Your Printer Paper
  1. Put you & your partner's names on your printer paper.
  2. Take the candy out of the bag.  
  3. Create a model of DNA with five sets of base pairs by laying the candy out on your construction paper.
  4. In the corner of the paper, make a key that shows which color Skittle is which base (for example, Purple = Adenine)
  5. Don't forget the base pairing rules while making your model!
