Acrylic

Acrylic is made from petroleum mixed with chemicals. Acrylic is also known as fake wool. It feels like wool, but wears out less quickly. Acrylic is nice to wear, as it does not itch.

Lycra

The fibers of lycra are very elastic. Lycra has a lot of stretch. It is shiny and transparent by itself. It is widely used for swimwear, sportswear, tights, and socks.

Viscose

Viscose is half-synthetic. It comes partly from nature (wood). This is mixed with chemicals. This fabric does not sweat very much. It is used for dresses, blouses, and tops.

Polyester

Polyester is made from petroleum, mixed with chemicals. By heating this, viscous threads are created. Polyester is often used for sportswear.
