Lesson goals

• At the end of this lesson, you can react to a customer’s e-mail who’s asking for travel advice
• At the end of this lesson, you can make an informational folder about your recommendations for Dutch amenities

Exercise 1

• What? Do exercise 1 on handout 4. Fill in the answers. 
• How? Do it individually, write down your own opinion. 
• Help? When you really don’t know what to do or what to write down, you can ask the teacher or a fellow student. 
• Time? 5 minutes 
• Outcome: you brainstormed about your own favorite dutch things. In this way, you already prepared yourself a bit for a conversation with a customer who asks for your opinion.
  
• Done? Do the extra exercise.

Exercise 2

• What? Do exercise 2. Write an e-mail to your customer.  
• How? With help of the chunks, or without. Read the e-mail first! 
• Help? You can use the chunks if you can’t make up things on your own. If you need help, first ask a classmate. If he/she doesn’t know it either; ask the teacher.  
• Time? 8 minutes 
• Outcome: you’ve written a simple e-mail back to a customer.  
• Done? Compare your e-mail with your neighbor. What is different and what is the same?  

Exercise 3

• What? You’re going to make a news-letter with your group,                                  all of the instructions can be found in the hand-out.
• How? With your group and with help of the internet.
• Help? Internet, group, or your teacher.
• Time? 20 minutes
• Outcome: you’ve made a page for your (imaginary) office, wherein you’ve given recommendations for things to do in The Netherlands.
• Done? Add more pages until the timer is finished!
