But what is the corona virus exactly and how do we prevent the virus from spreading?

You can't get infected by a kiss: the saliva breaks down the virus.

The virus spreads through saliva and mucus droplets

By coughing and sneezing, the virus enters the air through small droplets, where it remains floating and can spread further.

 The extremely contagious virus does spread through small droplets in the air, but those droplets do not remain floating in the air.

These droplets can fly up to 10 metres through the air before they
fall down.

According to the RIVM, these droplets can fly a maximum of 2 metres through the air before they fall. They cannot cover a greater distance. So keep 2 meters distance from others!

You can get infected from shopping trolleys, railings, money or door handles

 Various studies have shown that the virus may 'survive' a number of hours to days. Exactly how long is still unknown. Virologist Ab Osterhaus says: 'Suppose you have the virus, sneezes in your hand and then touches a door handle. Someone who then grabs the door handle and puts his hand in his mouth can become infected'.

It doesn't matter if you wash your hands with soap or use hand gel, because both are equally effective.

If you use your hand on dirty hands, it works less. If you want to use your hand, wash your hands first. Wash your hands regularly anyway! But both  are able to  destroy the  coat of the virus  when used properly

So far, most people heal again from an infection with the new
coronavirus.

 But it's now clear that this flu is far more deadly than an ordinary flu

The virus can also multiply itself in the air.

For viruses to multiply, they usually need support of the cells they infect. Only in their host they can find the machines, proteins, and building blocks with which they can copy their genetic material before infecting other cells.
