Past Simple:

To Be = were

  • If you listened to me, I wouldn't be angry at you.
  • If you didn't stop in time you would fail the exam.
  • If she were younger she would be the perfect candidate.


  • They would not pass their exams if they didn't study.
  • We would go to the park if it weren't raining.
  • He would buy a house if he won the lottery.
