(Esafety) Understanding ratings

Content is very graphic, and should not be watched by anyone under this age, the film will include strong language and graphic violence. 

The content may include adult topics, but some topics are still of limit, strong violence and language is allowed, but the movie must not focus on it

Movies suitable for most ages, occasional bad language, No extreme violence or content included. 

Content that should be set within a positive framework and should offer reassuring elements to any violence, threat or scary scenes.

Content should

generally not unsettle a child, although parents

should be aware that some scenes may be unsuitable

for more sensitive children.

The role of the BBFC 

Some films and videos have things in them that can make viewers feel worried, confused or uncomfortable.

 The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) wants audiences to enjoy watching films or online content, so their job is to view and classify films before general release.

Job Role: Compliance Officer

• Compliance Officers watch films for cinema release in the BBFC's own cinema, so they can experience the full film so they can correctly rate it.

Though crunchy at times, action is brief and undetailed overall, justifying a 12A rating.

A familiar suburban setting heightens emotional impact as disaster strikes. Panic, weapon use, asteroid destruction, crashes, and sustained fear—especially involving a child—create intense threat. Graphic violence and Mild language appears. 

Overall tone warranted a 15 rating.

The trailer combines awe, action, and horror as dinosaurs threaten humans: capsized boats, stalking, city chaos, children in danger, and terrifying attacks. Familiar fantastical elements balance the intensity, but sustained peril and fear justify a 12A rating rather than PG.
