In Trivial Pursuit, the participants' knowledge is tested on various topics, ranging from sports to history. The ultimate winner is the one who collects all the "pie pieces." This aspect, the reward, often serves as a good starting point for gamification, as we discussed before. Trivial Pursuit is, therefore, an excellent game to use for reviewing the course material.
How do you use it?
The spinner determines both the question and its color. Each correctly answered question earns a "hotspot." The first person to have all the "hotspots" wins. However, because the spinner determines the color, it's possible that a student already has the color but needs to answer the question, which won't earn them another "hotspot."
This activity can be done in pairs using the "Share screen" option, but it also works well as a whole-class lesson. You can even consider variations like "Boys vs. Girls." Trivial Pursuit can be used for any subject and at any stage of the lesson, such as introducing a new topic.
