Black Americans kept being discriminated against by society. Can you think of other examples of how they were discriminated?

- Characters with strongly positive actions speak the mainstream variety of English 
- Characters with strongly negative actions/motivations often speak varieties of marginalized groups (e.g. Afro American/Arabic accents)
- Important side note: "Even when stereotyping is not overtly negative, it is confining and misleading." (p.101)
